LED display screens have been developing rapidly around the world since the 1980s, and their performance indicators have been gradually improved and continuously improved. At present, LED displays are commonly used outdoors and indoors. So how to choose a high-performance LED display? Let me briefly introduce the performance of LED displays.
1.Brightness:
The number of brightness levels that can be distinguished from the darkest to the brightest in the same level of brightness of an LED display. Grayscale, also known as color scale or gray scale, refers to the degree of lightness and darkness of brightness. For digital display technology, grayscale is the determining factor in the number of displayed colors. Generally speaking, the higher the gray level of the LED display, the richer the colors and the more gorgeous the colors; on the contrary, the display color is single and the changes are simple.
At present, domestic LED displays mainly use 8-bit processing system, that is, 256 (28) gray levels. A simple understanding is that there are 256 brightness changes from black to white. Using the three primary colors of RGB can form 256×256×256=16777216 colors. International brand display screens mainly use 10-bit processing systems, that is, 1024 levels of grayscale, and the three primary colors of RGB can constitute 1.07 billion colors.
2. Wavelength:
The wavelength determines the dynamic color gamut range of the display. The three colors of the LED full-color display are measured by wavelength. A high-quality LED full-color display should have a wide color gamut.
3. Frame changing frequency:
The frequency of LED display screen information update. Generally, it is 25Hz, 30Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, etc. The higher the frame change frequency, the better the continuity of the changing image.
4. Refresh frequency:
The reciprocal of the time required to display a frame of picture, the display screen is regarded as a light source, that is the flashing frequency of the light source. We can use an instrument like a "light frequency meter" to directly test the light source flicker frequency of the display screen to reflect this indicator. The LED display shows the number of times the data is repeated per second. Usually 60Hz, 120Hz, 240Hz, etc., so the refresh frequency must be maximized to ensure the stability of the display screen.
The above points are just a brief explanation of the characteristics of several LED displays. There is no way to confirm in a short period of time whether the LED display meets the requirements for stability, reliability or lifespan. Producers can make guarantees, but they cannot replace requirements. It is a business concept and a contractual concept, not a technical concept. As for how to correctly understand a complex system product such as LED display, we still need to proceed more from reality, analyze this product from the user's perspective, and guide users to correctly understand LED display.
